A massive congratulations to Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod on the PADI IDC Indonesia program in the Gili Islands, who has once again been awarded the “Platinum” PADI Status for 2016.

The annual PADI Frequent Trainer program awards are designed to recognize the most active PADI Course Directors worldwide and awards are given based on the number of candidates who choose to complete their Instructor training with a particular Course Director, plus how many candidates stay on to continue their education and how much support Course Directors can offer in terms of career development after the course. The Platinum award is the highest available within the Instructor Development system and recognizes Holly’s overall commitment to the PADI Education system and her pure experience in Instructor training and development. The annual PADI Frequent Trainer program awards a Gold, Silver and Platinum rating dependent on the total number of Instructors a Course Director has certified within the given year.

As well as receiving the Platinum PADI Status Holly has also received the “Elite 300” Instructor award as during 2015 she has conducted nearly 500 Instructor level certifications. The program itself has also received recognition through the PADI “Commitment to Instructor Development” Award for its pure educational distinctions.

The IDC program takes place at Trawangan Dive; the first PADI 5 Star IDC Career Development Center (CDC) to be established in Lombok and the Gili Islands. Today, Trawangan Dive remains the only PADI Career Development Center on the island of Gili Trawangan and potential candidates will find world class instructor training facilities including an instructor training classroom, 2 training swimming pools, a dedicated instructor training boat and a beachside restaurant and bar. The purpose built Open Water instructor training sites are situated a stone’s throw away and are accessed by boats which leave from the beach directly in front of the dive center.

The program is entirely conducted by Multi Award Winning Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod who has a wealth of experience within the industry having worked within diving for over a decade in a variety of diving locations. She is therefore easily placed to advise candidates about potential job offers and about specific locations include what candidates can expect from specific employers and specific regions and also what employers may expect from applicants.

The Instructor Development Course is conducted over an 11 day period with an additional 5 days of pre-IDC preparation.During the pre IDC preparation workshops candidates will review the theory, skills and knowledge from the Divemaster Course allowing candidates to make a smooth transition onto the Instructor Program. During the Instructor Course candidates will participate in the mandatory core PADI  syllabus components which can be found on any PADI Instructor training course and also take part in additional workshops which have been specifically designed by Holly to make the transition into industry as smooth as possible by giving candidates the extra training over and above what is required; allowing them to gain the additional skills, knowledge and confidence to go on and provide a quality and fun education for their future students.

If you’re looking to become a highly Professional PADI Scuba Instructor you are definitely in the right place. Our Platinum PADI Course Director runs a fully comprehensive IDC Program right here at our exclusive PADI CDC Center in Gili Trawangan.

 The PADI IDC Program is due to start on 6^th June and it is highly advised for candidates to arrive approximately 4 days early for the program so as to take full advantage of the Pre-IDC preparation. During the PADI IDC Indonesia program candidates will not only learn the complete PADI IDC curriculum, but will develop into  a true professional PADI Instructor who can act as a teacher and role model for future divers. The course is conducted on an 11 day schedule with an additional 4 days of preparation before the course starts.

The course consists of Knowledge Development, dive theory, classroom presentations, pool presentations, open water presentations and general standards and procedures. There are also a range of additional compulsory presentations such as sales and marketing, risk assessment, DSD workshop, Rescue workshop and risk assessment. PADI has also produced some optional elements of the course which of course we include on an optional basis such as the IDC Gili Trawangan Revised Open Water Course Workshop; which introduces the new PADI Open Water Course which is due to replace the current course later this year giving Instructors an overview of the course and way in which it differs from the traditional (current) course. Another addition is the IDC Gili Islands Project AWARE Presentation which introduces the Project AWARE Foundation including its aims, objectives and achievements allowing instructor to go out into the field and represent the foundation.

PADI IDC Gili Trawangan | “Updated” - What’s New in the PADI IDC Indonesia | Trawangan Dive CDC Center

Although the PADI IDC Gili Islands continues to evolve and we constantly monitor the program so as to assist the candidates in any way possible to gain rewarding and successful careers in diving. We are currently including all latest PADI updates within our own PADI IDC Gili Islands Course Updates which focuses on creating an unusually high standard of IDC facilities and giving candidates the best and most up to date course content available, whilst also including all of the PADI updates whether optional or not so as to give instructor the best possible transition into their new career. Our PADI IDC Career Development Program has also been praised by PADI by way of presenting us with the “Outstanding commitment to Instructor Development” Award.

Other recent developments include our Local Divemaster Training Program; having already trained many local Indonesian Divemasters, we are currently expanding the project and working with a number of dive centers across Indonesia.

Our current IDC Career Development Program runs on an 11 schedule with an additional 4 days of pre IDC preparation workshops. The course is conducted at Trawangan Dive, which is the only Multi Award winning PADI Career Development Center (CDC) in the Gili Islands and in fact the entire Lombok region. Trawangan Dive is one of the largest PADI Dive Operators in the Gili Islands and therefore allows for candidates, once the course is finished to gain some experience from our team of well-seasoned PADI Professional Instructors. The Project Aware is basically a short presentation designed to encourage Instructors to act as Ambassadors on behalf of the Foundation, being their voice and educating their community about the foundation and their various projects and of course how anyone can get involved. We here at Trawangan Dive believe in the work that Project Aware do for our community and are therefore keen to promote their cause in any way possible, as such we are running the Project AWARE seminars for all our IDC candidates and also opening this to previous candidates. For those who have taken their PADI IDC elsewhere and don’t have the continued support of their center we have also provided a short online introduction to the presentation. There is also a new revised PADI Open Water Course due to be released later this year, and it seems to have cause some confusion amongst the well-seasoned PADI Instructors who have been teaching the traditional or classic Open Water Course for many years. Although the current IDC curriculum revolves around instructors being prepared to teach the classic version of the course we have designed a number of workshops to introduce the new course. We have also planned to conduct a number of seminars to our previous candidates so as to make their transition to teaching the new course as smooth as possible.
